Yes, I LOVE American Idol, so I'm gonna talk about it in this post.Mostly because I think this season, so far, is kinda lame. So, here is my soap box for the season:
First, they cut out a whole bunch of the bad auditions to "focus more on those that would have a chance" or something along those lines. Personally, the bad auditions were my favorite part of the audition phase. You get to see the good ones all season. I like seeing people who think they can sing, but sing as well as me. It gives me a good laugh, and let's face it, who can't use a good laugh every now and then :) lol.
Then Hollywood week has pretty much sucked. There hasn't been a lot of seeing them sing. They show a bunch of behind the scenes stuff instead. Like last night for instance, the first half hour was all behind the scenes. Then they showed little bits and pieces of the singing, but mostly reactions. What's up with that? I thought this was a singing show.
Then they cut the Osmond? We all know he can sing. Maybe they figured he doesn't need this, and they need him gone to give everyone else a fair shot. Not really sure of the reason, but it's kinda lame. Now I am glad they cut that bikini girl! Yes, that girl does have a mediocre singing voice, but she's not half as good as anyone else on there. Sorry if you think she's great, but I personally didn't like her from day one. And what about the cute Riverton High student? I thought he had a really good singing voice. Of course, he did forget some words, so I guess I will have to forgive them for cutting him. Although, at least he didn't just stand there, he did say "doo, doo, doo" in place of the words. That's better than nothing right ;). My sister-in-law's mom works at Riverton High and she said that he told her they told him (wow that was a really confusing sentence) that he was a lot like David Archuletta so that's why they cut him...who knows. But if that's true, then that's really dumb!
Basically, I think American Idol has made some really lame changes and made the show kinda suck so far. I really hope it gets better. And hopefully they keep a couple people from Utah in it so I have someone to root for. :)

I totally agree... The show this year is kind of lame. I abhor "bikini girl". I thought she was put through because she was "hot" (according to shallow TV personalities), which is totally WRONG! They aren't showing hardly any singing, which is lame because it is a SINGING show, like you say! So, I'm with ya on this! And... AMEN about the Osmond kid... Of course that kid can sing!
