stop, drop, and roll....

Ok, so you all know my oldest baby is in preschool. This week the little man was "star of the week". I don't know how many people actually did something similar to this in Elementary school. We called it the VIP in my Elementary. Basically, it's when ur the important person for the week, and you're highlighted for the week. It's also when you get to take a poster with a bunch of fun pictures of yourself so everyone can see you growing up. So, I went and bought a poster on Saturday to put all of Braedyn's pictures on it. As I was looking through his pictures there were so many I thought would be super cute for the poster. And then I tried to actually put them all on the poster. I never realized how small those posters actually are. Braedyn helped me pick his favorites, and he taped them to the poster. They were all a little crooked, but he was super proud. Then we had to type up a little something about him. Anyone who knows the kid knows he pretty much loves EVERYTHING! He really doesn't have any favorites. As I was typing up the info he would say "And my favorite food is macanoni and cheese, and spa-dagetti, oh, and I like pizza, and definitely casserole. Hamburgers are my favorite, and cheese, and grapes are super yummy, and..." at that point I stopped him and told him to pick the 2 he likes the very most. That took about five minutes of him trying to pick a favorite. This happened with EVERY favorite. The color was easy. He has one favorite color a week, and this week it was green. Although, I am kinda glad he wasn't the star of the week 3 weeks ago, at that time his favorite color was pink...lol.

Anyway, this post really wasn't going to be about that, it's about what he did today at preschool. Today was a super fun day for him. Ever since he had his first ambulance ride at 2 years old he has been obsessed with ambulances and fire trucks. This week was community service week, or something like that. So, they went to the park (which is like a street away from us) and the fire truck met them there to talk about fires. He was SO excited.

I know it's hard to see all the kids in this picture. Braedyn is the one in the middle, front. He's wearing the green plaid shirt, holding onto the bottom of it. Mabe that makes it easier to find him.

So, when he got home he had this book he made at preschool that talked about fire safety. actually, the book was 3 pages long. The first page said "STOP" 2nd page "DROP" 3rd page "ROLL". So, all afternoon, Braedyn took the book everywhere with him and read it to EVERYONE who would listen (mostly Brock). So, at least the kid knows what to do if he catches on fire. Also, he learned a couple of things from the firefighters that I had never heard. They told the kids to throw a bear at the window if they are stuck in a house that is on fire. I'm not sure why they would throw a bear at the window instead of them standing in the window. and there was something else they taught them that I can't remember right now, good thing Braedyn has a better memory than me ;)

  1. What a cool day! I wanna go back to preschool....unless it requires picking a favorite food. Then I don't wanna.
