I mean, sure, they LOOK a lot alike. They both got Mommy's nose (poor boys) lol. They are both boys, both their names start with 'B', and many other similarities. However, these two are so VERY different. In case you haven't figured out, the top one is Braedyn, and the second one is Brock (obviously).
It is amazing to me how much their differences are coming out each day. It's crazy as a parent. After getting Braedyn through his "terrible two's" I thought I knew what I was doing, and was more prepared for Brock...Think again! Brock is so very different.
The differences all started with pregnancy. I was NEVER sick with Braedyn. I had a couple of small complications, but mostly because of how huge he was, and how small I am. And I gained 53, yes 53 POUNDS with pregnancy! When he was born Braedyn had a lot of health problems (welcome to the Wunderly family). He was lactose intolerant. I had to change to drinking Soy milk, which lasted like a week. Then we had to switch to the most expensive formula on the market (Nutramagen). Even with that he spit up pretty much constantly. He was a very independent child from birth. Never wanted to cuddle. Started speaking (sign language) around six months, and was speaking full sentences, that people could actually understand by 18 months.
With Brock, I was sick through my WHOLE pregnancy. Went into premature labor 3 times. He was tiny. I only gained like 20 pounds or so. He had health problems too (he is part of the Wunderly family you know). He had jaundice at birth. Got spinal meningitis when he was just over 1 month. Was dropped on his head at 3 months, and again at 5 months, and fell 8 feet onto his head at 14 months. Now, he is 19 months, and barely saying a couple of words. It is so weird to me going from a son that was speaking full sentences at 18 months, to a son who says 3 words at 19 months. Now, I love them both the same, which is weird to me, cuz when I had Braedyn I didn't see how it could be possible to love a kid the same. In fact, I was terrified to have another child for fear I wouldn't love him as much. But I really do love them the same.
Anyway, the point of this story. So, today Brock said "do" meaning "doll" and I was SO excited. We were at my parents. So I had Erek come in and had Brock tell him his new word. Erek thought I was crazy. So, I had Brock tell my mom his new word, and she cheered for him. Then Braedyn had Brock tell him his new word. Braedyn cheered, gave him a big hug, and said "you are so amazing Brock! Way to go!" and Braeydn had Brock tell my dad his new word. Then I got thinking, we didn't cheer for Braedyn when he would talk at 18 months, basically cuz he took after his mom and his mouth is 7-11. Can you imagine cheering for me every time I say a word? You would be cheering 24/7. And that is when I realized, my boys are so VERY different in so many ways. It amazes me...
