I am SO Awesome!!!

Yes, that title sounds a little self-centered, totally not me, but I am super proud of myself today. :) So, like every Thursday, I had physical therapy...YAY!!! but, I have COMPLETELY ditched the wheelchair. I am now totally on the walker. And I must say, it is so much easier. I'm not as wide, so I fit through doors much easier. However, oddly enough, it doesn't have as good of a turn radius as the wheelchair. But, Brock loves the walker now. When he wants carried, I put him on the the little bar in the front of the walker, holding onto the handles, while I push. He thinks this is quite fun, since it is kinda high for him, and he is OBSESSED with heights! Also, there are little bars in the front that are just right for him to reach, so when he wants me to go somewhere, he grabs the little bar, and pulls me wherever I need to go. Today, I took a 15 minute break from work, and about 5 minutes into the break Brock pulled me back to the bedroom, pointed at the computer, said some words nobody could ever understand, and left. I was assuming he was telling me to get back to work. crazy kid.

Anyway, so on with my physical therapy story...So, I get there, and first of all, everyone was in total shock that I was out of the wheelchair. And I must say, things do definitely look different from standing up. Like, that little desk in the front where you check in, there is a desk behind the little counter thing, with a computer on it. It's amazing! Anyway, that's not why I am so proud, although, that is a very good reason. For one of the exercises that I was sitting in my wheelchair for, they had me stand. Now, this completely freaked me out at first. Basically because I have to use both hands to do the exercise, which means, no hands on anything to hold me up, which, of course, means I had to stand on my own. Fortunately, Cambree was holding me up the whole time. But, surprisingly, she didn't have to use much strength to hold me up. And no, it's NOT because I don't weigh much, it's because I was standing on my own!!!! YAY ME!!! Oh, it gets better...so, the very last exercise, as usual, was the treadmill. Last time, if you recall, I went 1.0 miles per hour, for just over a minute. And this time...drum roll please......1.7 miles per hour, for 8 minutes!!!!!! After that my legs were pretty much jell-o, but I did it! And, I even had enough strength to walk out of there, with the walker of course :)
