FINALLY.....

Today was another FUN day of physical therapy. I go every Tuesday and Thursday, and it's always TONS of fun! For reals, it is! I love it. Basically because I get to see myself getting stronger each time. They have doubled the weight on one machine, making it like 6 pounds instead of 3. And they have increased time on a few of the exercises. But today was an extra fun day! They added another exercise...walking! YAY!!!! I was so excited. Last time I was there they mentioned they would probably strap me to the treadmill, and have it go as slow as possible, and have me walk. Thus, I was looking forward to it all week. I mean, let's face it, a person can only handle so much of this...

So, when I got to therapy today I was so psyched, I could hardly wait to get started! I get about halfway through my exercises, and my therapist (Cambree) goes and gets the head therapist (Jeff) to strap me to the treadmill. By the time Jeff comes out, my heart is about to jump oput of my chest with excitement. He walks over to the treadmill, and tries to start it up, and it doesn't work. :( So, he just says "sorry, this one will have to wait until next time". I was SO BUMMED!!!!! He has Cambree get me started on my final wimpy exercises before he comes out to stretch me. I do 2 exercises, and Jeff comes back out, has Cambree grab the walker, and says he has decided to still have me walk. We will just do circles in the building with him holding onto the very stylish belt to make sure I don't fall. I mean, the walker isn't near as cool as the treadmill, but it was still cool! I walked for about 5 minutes and thought my legs were gonna collapse, it was SO COOL!!! And then the guy decides to switch it up. He has me try to walk backwards. i looked at him like he was completely INSANE and he just laughed and waited for me to say I was ready. Then he lifted me back up with the sexy belt and had me walk backwards down the hall. That lasted a whole of 10 seconds. But it was a fun effort :) However, I did so well at the walking, that whenever I go anywhere around the house, I pretty much use this ALL the time..

But my boys are not quite ready for me to give up the wheelchair

I'm pretty sure i will be out of it REAL soon, so I guess they'll just have to find a new toy :)
