Decisions, decision...
I am the most indecisive person I know. Likely the most indecisive person EVER! So, when I have to make a big decision, it takes pretty much FOREVER!!! Fortunately, I don't really have any super big decisions to make, but with Braedyn starting school on Wednesday, I have to decide which would be best (and cheapest) to do. Should I just pay the $1.50/day for him to have school lunch (since we don't come close to qualifying for free or reduced lunch), or should I pack him a lunch? If I do pack a lunch, what in the world would I pack? I always had school lunch, so have no clue what parents would pack for their children. Braedyn told me he can take a lunch bag to school, he said he just wants to take his little brown lunch sack, and take a sandwich and water for lunch. Good thing the kid is easy to please. But I'm not sending my child to school every day with a sandwich and water. I'm starting to think for what they get, the $1.50/day isn't such a bad price....

Okay, I just wrote a whole page long opinion... and it deleted... so, yeah. I say pay for the school lunch... I hate trying to think of sack lunches and $1.50 is a pretty good deal. It's $2.00 here, or maybe 1.75.... Last year I had to pay for Parker's but this year I qualify for free lunch! YAY! So, that is my 2 cents!
ReplyDeleteAs a teacher, I see LOADS of lunches! :) Sandwiches are, by far, the most common. String cheese, crackers, fruit (apple, orange, banana, grapes) also tend to be common. Sometimes a cookie or small bag of chips is also included. A water bottle/juice box/Gatorade tend to be what the kids drink. The cute, individually packaged things are far more expensive. Lots of kids have parents just buy the big bag of Doritos and pack a smaller amount in a sandwich bag. Hope this helps!
