Ok, for anyone who does not know (which you all should, unless you never read my blog, and are just now thinking it's a good time to start reading what this crazy person has to talk about) I was in a wheelchair from February 8th until fairly recently, and then a very old lady walker. However, today that all ends. After 2 1/2 months I am WALKING with NO assistive devices! YAY for me! They will be taking the wheelchair back to the IHC HomeCare place, and my walker will be locked in a closet where I never have to see it again...hopefully ;) Now, I'm not 100% better. I still wobble a little when I walk, and tend to fall when there isn't anything to catch myself with when I lose my balance, kinda like a baby when they first learn to walk.
My boys are super excited. When Braedyn saw me walking he said "Mommy, you're walking! Yay for you! You're amazing! But now you don't need my help anymore" and got a very sad face. I told him I still need his help with a lot of things, and will for the rest of his life. Then he was happy for me again. Brock didn't quite have the same reaction. He just wants me to hold him, but I still can't walk with him, so he doesn't really care too much for the walking thing yet.
I decided to push myself a little more after my most recent neurologist visit, which was on Monday. When I got there, there was this old man (probably in his 80's) who had a walker just like mine. When I came in he said "Wow! We're twinners! You wanna race?" I wasn't sure I wanted to be a twinner to an 80 year old. And then yesterday I remembered I have a wedding to go to on Saturday for one of my good friends from High School, and I really don't wanna show up on my walker. So, I pushed myself, and whalah!
