When you have a 5-year-old, a lot of things you never thought of are brought to your attention. Just last night I realized I have to teach my child more about the Temple apparently.
Tonight is our ward Temple night, and Erek and I are gonna go. So, my mom gets the privilege of watching my 2 very energetic boys. My boys LOVE Grandma's house, thank goodness, cuz she "gets to" watch them quite often. On our way home from dinner with the in-laws, Brock asked if we were going to Grandma's (he said "Ma-ma's?") I said no, we're going home, it's after their bedtime, and Grandma wouldn't want to see us this late. Braedyn said "Grandma ALWAYS wants to see us. She LOVES us. I'm her favorite Braedyn, and he's her favorite Brock". I laughed, and it was silent for a couple seconds. Then Braedyn said "Do we get to go to Grandma's tomorrow? It's Saturday, so we have nothing else to do, let's go!" I told him Grandma will be watching him and Brock while mommy and daddy go to the Temple. He said "and ur gonna have cookies and water after the temple?" I said "no, we don't have cookies and water after" His response "Well, I always get cookies and water after. Maybe you should take me, then they'll give you some".
I had to process this for a second to figure out why he thought that about the temple. Then I realized. We went to 2 Temple open houses in 2009, and after walking through, you go to a Stake center and they have cookies and water for you. So, the only times he has been to the Temple, that's what happened. And that is his idea of the Temple...

HaHaHa! I love it...I would think lots of people would get cookies and water after going to the temple thanks to wedding receptions as well.
