Jeff Dunham was AWESOME

Okay, so, I got in trouble yesterday by my wonderful co-worker *cough* *cough* Kalynne *cough* *cough* for not updating my blog yet. So, I promised to update it after the Jeff Dunham concert, since I would have something to talk about....

So, Jeff Dunham was AWESOME!!!! Just like my title says. ;) Sorry, no pics, still can't find my camera, and forgot to borrow my parents camera. Side note: we will be buying a new camera, maybe even today. Now, back on the subject. The show started out with whatever that guys name is, better known as "Guitar Guy". Who knew he was a comedian. He was hilarious. And for, all you rock fans out there, his son is the guitarist for some rock group name 'Avenged Sevenfold'. Ever heard of them? I haven't, but my hubby has. I guess they're some huge rock group. Anyway, the guy just kinda talked about his life, and randomly played guitar and made fun of himself. I wish I could remember some of his jokes, but if I tried to tell them they most likely wouldn't be near as funny, so I better not. He, of course, made fun of country music. Now, I love country music (in case any of you didn't know, in which case, do you even know me? ;) ) But he made a country song, and it was funny. He was basically making fun of the fact that country talks about getting drunk, cheating, dying, stuff like that, but they cover it up with these clever words so everyone in the family can listen. I know, doesn't sound near as funny coming from me. But, if anyone wants to hear any of his songs, Erek bought his CD.

Then, came Jeff Dunham with all his crazy puppet things (I dunno what they're called. He calls them dolls). Anyway, a lot of the stuff he did was from his DVD's. But he had some random stuff come up becasue of the audience that kinda threw him off. Walter made fun of him for being in Utah, in the middle of January (when it's like 4 degrees), playing in a gym (the show was at ESA). They also made fun of our flags we use for crossing the street. They said everywhere they have been, they've never seen that and thought it was a little strange. They didn't really understand the purpose of the flag. But, again, I can't really tell the jokes, you just had to be there.

At the end of the show, he brought out the redneck one (I forgot his name). He said he got several emails requesting him, so decided to bring him out. He said he hasn't been out for a while so he had to use his cheat sheet. But, when Jeff would ask a question, the whole audience would say the puppets part. That really threw Jeff off. He said it was certainly the strangest show he's ever done when the audience knows the bit better than him. We are definitely rednecks!

In a nutshell, the show rocked! who knew guitar guy was funny? And Utah has a whole lotta rednecks :)

  1. Cough cough huh? You can just call me your fabulous friend now that I am no longer a co-worker! :) I am soo jealous! I got home last night and my hubby was watching Jeff on TV and I told him that he was in SLC and you were there...we were both quite jealous of ya! I am glad you enjoyed it. And the dolls are called ventriloquist dummies.
